Welcome to Hego Racing,
Latest News

During free practice at Thruxton, Daniel was involved in an accident at Club.  He hit the kerbing quite badly and was thrown from the bike, narrowly missing a couple of riders. Unfortunately for Dan, the bike landed on him rather than the track and he broke his arm very badly.

Dan was transferred from the Medical Centre at Thruxton to Winchester hospital where he underwent an exploratory operation.  This operation revealed that his upper right arm was in a fair number of pieces and would require re-constructive surgery.  After a further stay in Southampton hospital and another clean up operation, Dan was finally transferred back to Nottingham.

One more major operation later and Dan's arm has been put back together.  He is recovering well and undergoing physio.

Whilst this means that Dan's plans for competing in the NW200 and the TT have now been cancelled, he does hope to be back in competitive racing later this year. Dan has also taken the decision to withdraw from the National Superstock 1000 Championship this year and aims to focus on road racing.  He is hopeful that he will be able to compete in the International Gold Cup road races in Scarborough during September.

In the meantime, on behalf of Dan and the team, can we pass on our sincere thanks to all of the medical staff at Thruxton who were fantastic in terms of their response and their care following Dan's accident, and also to everyone who has since sent their well wishes and messages of support to Dan during his recovery.

Further updates to follow......
And now a plea for help!!!  I am still looking for further support in terms of sponsorship.  This year is set to be my biggest challenge yet and obviously a fairly costly one too!  If you would like to get involved and can offer any type of contribution/donation to the fighting fund, I would be extremely grateful.  You can get in touch via the contact form on this website or by dropping an email to hegoracing@hotmail.co.uk - it would mean a lot to me.  Obviously we would ensure that an appropriate package was put together in terms of listing your name/Company name here on the website and on the bike.  Please drop us a note if you would like to discuss any sponsorship opportunities.

Thanks again for everyone's support, more news soon.....
