April 2011
Derby Phoenix Racing Club
Snetterton
On the back of a successful visit to Snetterton's new circuit last week, Dan made a return journey during the first weekend of April and picked up where he'd left off the previous week with three starts and three wins and another step closer to his TT license.
Race reports will follow soon... ------------------------------------------------------------------

Trip to the Isle Of Man
The past week has been an incredibly busy one for Dan, but also an incredibly inspiring and rewarding one.
A trip to the Isle of Man for a couple of days was the start of the hectic schedule, meeting the team who he will be riding for in this year's TT - The People's Bike Team. This is a massive opportunity for Dan and a huge compliment to be given the chance not only to compete in the TT, in itself a life-long ambition of Dan's, but also to be asked to ride the People's Bike.
Dan spent his time on the island getting to know Mark and the rest of the team, as well as learning as much as possible about the set up required for the bike and getting to grips with the island course itself. Dan is extremely grateful for this amazing opportunity, and relishes the prospect of competing at this most respected level of road racing.
A massive thank you to Mark and his family and the team for the warm welcome and their hospitality during Dan's stay with them. Roll on May!!

March 2011
East Midlands Racing Association
Round 1 - Mallory Park.
After touching back down from a trial run on the Isle of Man on Friday evening, Dan and his team packed the Cross Lane Garage/Team Green Kawasaki into the van and travelled the short distance to Mallory Park to compete in the first rounds of racing in the EMRA Championships.
Dan was entered in a number of races on his ZX6 Kawasaki, including the race of the weekend, the Buildbase Mallory Trophy.
Following a steady set of qualifying sessions on Sunday morning, the racing began towards lunchtime with Dan raring to go. Dan's main competitor in the 600 races was Jimmy Rose with whom he battled and provided great racing entertainment during their opening two races. Jimmy came out the victor in the first race with Dan a close 2nd, however victory came for Dan in their next encounter where they passed and re-passed each other on almost every lap. Dan crossed the line by a narrow margin to win the race, a massive achievement following last season's nasty arm injury and a huge confidence boost. Hego was definitely back and racing !!
The main race of the day, the Buildbase Mallory Trophy was next on the schedule. Dan had qualified well and was right up at the front of the grid alongside several 1000cc machines. From the start of the race, Dan was chasing down John Ingram on his BMW S 1000. Dan was literally flying round the Mallory track clocking up a personal best lap time of 53.644 seconds, only 0.162 seconds behind the pace of the BMW.
Dan finished the race a very creditable 2nd, the only 600cc bike to finish in the top 14. Dan's final two races of the day saw him take victories in both, a most satisfying and enjoyable start to the season.
Dan would like to express his sincere thanks to all of his team and main sponsors for their continued enthusiasm and support as he returns to full fitness and begins a new era in his racing career. A special mention goes to Ian from Cross Lane Garage for providing the best set up bike possible on which Dan plans to continue his racing career this season, also to Atkinson Evans for their support in enabling Dan to have purchased the suspension for the bike.
Dan now faces his next test, a further operation on his injured arm this weekend so being ready for the first BSB round at Brands Hatch will be a bit of a challenge, however, with the results from last weekend and his upcoming TT appearance growing ever closer though, Dan has all the incentive and determination he needs to ensure he will be stronger than ever when he returns again to the track.
